Kathy Hubbard
District 5840 Governor
Kathryn Hubbard, MD, was born in Charleston, Missouri.  She obtained a bachelor degree in nursing in St. Louis, MO and later attended medical school and did her residency in Kansas City, MO.  She was in practice for 28 years in general ophthalmology.  She had a private practice in Sedalia, MO, where she joined the local Rotary Club in 1989. In 1995, she and her husband Ron moved to the Texas Hill Country.
 
After moving to Texas, Kathryn (Kathy) started a private practice in Boerne, TX and joined the Noon Rotary Club of Boerne.  She served in multiple board positions and became their Club President in 2001-2002.  She then became the Club Foundation Chair and helped them achieve the status of a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club.
 
Kathy then served on the District Foundation Committee, as the Annual Fund Chair, and had the opportunity to assist with several District Foundation Seminars.  She is a Major Donor to the Foundation and a member of the White Hat Society.
 
Kathy’s passion is volunteer service and she has earned numerous awards from non-profit organizations in the Boerne area for her efforts.  She retired from her Ophthalmology practice in 2012 to further pursue this passion.  She helped spearhead a new club in Fair Oaks Ranch, TX and served as the Charter President in 2012-2013.  She most recently served as the District Extension Chair for new clubs.
 
For a number of years, she has worked with Medical Missions International on Ophthalmology and Optical mission work in South America.  She also volunteers with I Care San Antonio at Haven for Hope, in San Antonio.    She is active in her church as the leader with the Emmaus Community and as a Stephen Ministry Leader.
 
Kathy and her husband, Ron, have a daughter, Leslie, who lives in Mansfield, TX. 
 
She looks forward to the opportunity of meeting more Rotarians in the district and serving along side such awesome Rotarians.
