Theresa Spiess
TLU, Seguin Young Professionals

Theresa Spiess is a third generation Bulldog who happily joined the Texas Lutheran University staff last year as Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations. In this role she manages the university’s grants and works with businesses to create mutually beneficial partnerships with TLU. She took this role after rising through the nonprofit field throughout Central Texas over the past 15 years, most recently as the founding Executive Director of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Central Texas Chapter.

Theresa met her husband Chris at TLU, and they have two young children and two very old dogs. In her spare time, she serves on her church Stewardship Committee, teaches Sunday School, and serves as a cantor. She has jumped into several volunteer roles in Seguin, launching a monthly Grants Roundtable, an informal group for local grant writers to collaborate, and advising TLU’s Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society. Theresa is TLU’s representative on the Seguin Chamber Board, and she is now on the Board Nominating Committee, the Young Professional Planning Committee, Lunch & Learn Committee, and is chairing the inaugural Rising Stars of Guadalupe County event, which she will discuss with our club May 17th.
