Guadalupe Valley Habitat for Humanity

Established in 1993, Guadalupe Valley Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI), which is based in Americus, Georgia. There are over 1,700 other affiliates in the United States, and Habitat for Humanity builds in over 93 countries worldwide.

Thanks to HFHI’s help, a family somewhere in the world improves its housing situation every seven minutes of every hour of every day of the year.  In 2010, HFHI served a record 74,960 families in need.  Habitat’s Vision:  A world where everyone has a decent place to live.  Habitat’s Mission:  Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Guadalupe Valley Habitat for Humanity (GVHFH) has an open-door policy, which is all who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people.  In short, GVHFH welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.  Additionally, as a matter of policy, HFHI and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize.  This means that Habitat will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must either adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to a message designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.  Guadalupe Valley Habitat for Humanity has built seventeen homes in Seguin since 1993, and there are plans for building many more.
